Make Your Bath Panel Part of Your Colour Scheme

A paint-your-own bath panel gives you the freedom to create a coordinated or contrasting finish using a suitable bathroom paint. Match your walls, furniture or fitted cabinetry, or introduce a completely new feature colour.

Unlike a standard unfinished MDF panel, your TUBCRAFT panel is supplied pre-sealed with RUSTINS MDF Sealer. This creates a smoother, more consistent base for painting while helping to protect the MDF during the finishing process.

How to Order Your Custom Panel

Measure Your Bath Carefully measure the required overall panel length and height.
Enter Your Requirements Add your finished measurements and any special instructions to the customisation box above.
Upload a Drawing Show the position and measurements of any required pipe, skirting or obstruction cut-outs.

Important measuring advice: We recommend allowing approximately 3mm tolerance at the top, bottom and both sides to help achieve an easier fit. Baths, floors and surrounding walls are not always completely straight or level.

All dimensions and cut-out positions supplied by you will be used to manufacture your bespoke panel, so please check them carefully before placing your order.

How to measure for a custom-made bath panel

Painting Your Bath Panel

  • Inspect the supplied panel and make sure the surface is clean, dry and free from dust.
  • Lightly prepare the surface if required by your chosen paint manufacturer.
  • Use a paint system suitable for sealed MDF and humid bathroom environments.
  • Follow the paint manufacturer’s instructions for application, drying and recoating.
  • Paint and seal every cut or exposed MDF edge before installation.
  • Allow the finish to cure fully before fitting the panel beside the bath.

Please note: Moisture-resistant MDF is not the same as fully waterproof board. Correct painting, edge sealing and installation are essential, and the panel should not be left in standing water.

Installation Information

This is a wood-based bath panel and must be securely fitted to a suitable bath frame or surrounding timber battens. The frame or battening is not included.

Stainless-steel screws are supplied for securing the panel. For a neat, screw-free appearance with easier future access beneath the bath, an optional hidden fitting kit is also available.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the bath panel already painted? No. The panel is supplied pre-sealed and ready for you to finish in your chosen suitable paint colour.
Can you manufacture cut-outs in the panel? Yes. Bespoke cut-outs can be produced for pipes, skirting, shelving and other obstructions. Upload a clear, fully dimensioned drawing with your order.
What is a bath panel lip? A bath panel lip is a 5mm × 5mm extension along the top edge, designed to slide beneath the rim of the bath. Because bath undersides can be uneven, a panel without a lip is often easier to fit securely to a suitable frame or battens.

Why add a bath panel sealing strip? A suitable sealing strip helps protect the bottom edge of the panel against splashes, dirt and contact with water around the bathroom floor.

How long will my custom panel take? Please allow approximately 5–7 working days before delivery because each panel is manufactured to the measurements supplied with the order.

Will this bath panel fit my bath?
Each bath panel is designed for a specific bath type. Straight panels fit most standard UK baths. Shaped panels (L-shaped or P-shaped) must match the exact bath model. Always check your bath’s length, height and shape before ordering.
Is this bath panel adjustable?
Many MDF panels include a main panel and plinth, allowing height adjustment between 450mm and 560mm. Adjustable panels are ideal for uneven floors or baths installed slightly out of level. Check the product description for exact adjustment ranges.
Can this bath panel be cut to size?
MDF panels can be cut with a sharp handsaw. Acrylic panels can be trimmed with a fine-tooth saw. Curved sections on shaped panels must not be cut. Always measure carefully before trimming.
Does this product include a matching end panel?
Some products include matching end panels, while others require them to be purchased separately. Check the product listing for details or contact us for advice.
Is this bath panel moisture resistant?
MDF panels are made from moisture-resistant MEDITE MDF, ideal for bathroom environments. Acrylic panels are naturally water-resistant and easy to clean.
Is this bath panel supplied painted?
MDF panels are usually supplied unfinished so you can paint them in any colour. Acrylic panels arrive pre-finished. Always check the product description for the finish type.
What paint should I use on MDF bath panels?
Use MDF primer followed by undercoat and a satin, eggshell or gloss topcoat. Moisture-resistant bathroom paints and designer brands work extremely well.
How do I install this bath panel?
Most panels are fixed to timber battens or a frame using the supplied screws. MDF drills cleanly and acrylic panels require careful drilling with a fine bit. Full fitting instructions are included with every product.
Is this bath panel left-hand or right-hand?
Straight panels are universal. Shaped panels (L-shaped or P-shaped) are available in left-hand and right-hand versions. Ensure you select the correct orientation for your bath.
Can I return this bath panel?
